Parenting Groups

Weekly Meetings (No child care provided; parents and children bonding together)
Join us for weekly craft activities and more! In addition to fun projects, literacy, and child development information. This is a great time to meet other care-takers and build lasting relationships. “Suggestion Circles” help us get answers from each other.

Groups Meet:

Toddler Tuesdays:
Parents with children 2-4 year olds —parent group located at Parents Place 928 23rd Avenue in Longview.
10am to 11:30am

Join us for regular play in our toy-filled playroom, or meet as a group for extra-curricular activities such as Pumpkin Patch, hay rides, various craft activities, group discussions, literacy, and listening to local experts on topics chosen by the parents.

Baby Beginnings:
Focuses on the needs of new and/or expectant parents. Meet at Parents Place in Longview.
11am to 12noon

Play in our well-stocked, carpeted playroom with your child while you meet other new mothers or care-takers and exchange stories. Also pick up tips for new parents, such as dental hygiene or how to handle tantrums, and discuss selected topics.

Welcome Home Baby:
A 4 week class filled with information about your amazing newborn. (available upon request)

Union Familiar:
A Hispanic playgroup located at 133 S. Pekin Road in Woodland, Washington.
11am to 1pm

DADS GROUP:
2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Parents Place.
6:30 to 7:30pm

FAMILIES FOR FAMILIES: Support group for families with special needs children. Located at LifeWorks - 906 New York St., Longview, Washington. Childcare and light meal provided.
Fourth Thursday at 5:30pm

Applying for medical coupons
Scheduling transportation to medical appointments
Accessing medical care for your children
Breastfeeding support
Connecting to community resources

Classes

Class Fee: $20 each week; $25 each week per couple. * Book $15. Childcare available at no cost for children under age 9. Open: Tue - Thur 9-3pm * For Children in the Middle no childcare provided and each individual must pay $35.

Love & Logic: An approach to raising children that provides loving support from parents while at the same time expecting them to be respectful and responsible. Cost: $20 each week; Book: $15	Ongoing Jan. 11th - Feb. 8th Feb. 22nd - Mar. 21st	5 weeks	Wednesdays 6:30pm
1234 Parents: Teaches the importance of bonding and consistency between parent and child. Cost: $20 each week; Book: $15	Feb. 23rd - Mar. 15th	4 weeks	Thursdays 6:30pm
Battles, Hassles, Tantrums, & Tears: A class that teaches the skills to cope with conflict while making peace at home. It is helpful to parents with children ages 3 to 16. Some areas that are covered are: kids and anger, logical and natural consequences and self-defeating messages. Cost: $20 each week; Book: $15	Jan. 12th – Feb. 9th	5 Weeks	Thursdays 6:30 - 8:30pm
Children in the Middle: A skills-based program for divorced and divorcing parents that helps children and parents deal with the children's reactions to divorce. Cost: $35; No Book Required No Childcare Available	Jan. 14th Feb. 11th Mar. 10th Jan. 24th Feb. 28th Mar. 27th	Twice a month	Saturdays 9am Tuesdays 6pm
READY! for Kindergarten: A class that lays the foundation for success in school. Children are born learning help your child get a great start. Cost: Free classes!	Jan. 20th (Infants) Feb. 27th (Ages 1-2)	Winter Sessions	Friday 10am
